Nexxis Show Day at ExxonMobil Fawley
High-risk access, slow inspection workflows and inconsistent data quality remain major challenges across refineries and heavy industrial sites. To help teams see the impact of modern RVI and robotic technology, Nexxis recently hosted a full Show Day at ExxonMobil’s Fawley Refinery, the largest refinery in the United Kingdom.
Across two sessions, almost 60 attendees joined us to explore how robotic systems can reduce scaffolding, minimise confined-space entry and deliver cleaner, more repeatable inspection data.
Key Technologies Demonstrated
Snowcat Remote Visual Inspection Crawler
A magnetic-tracked RVI crawler designed for flat and vertical ferrous surfaces. Snowcat provides stable, high-quality visual inspection in locations traditionally requiring rope access or elevated work platforms.
Argus LiDAR Scanner
A compact LiDAR system built to generate accurate 3D digital twins of inspection areas. Ideal for tanks, complex structures and confined spaces where precise measurement and clear situational awareness are essential.
Zenith Vertical Inspection System
A stabilised, automated platform for shafts, chimneys, elevator runs and other vertical environments. Zenith removes the need for rope access while providing consistent high-resolution imagery throughout the full vertical run.
Attendees also expressed strong interest in Hellcat, VETOL and Powertrain, with early-2026 monthly rental programs planned to build internal use cases ahead of broader deployment with STORK and Sonomatic.
