ZChek-FB – Fluorescent Fluid for Magnetic Particle Inspection

ZChek-FB is a ready-to-use fluorescent MPI suspension in a 520 ml aerosol - no bath, no mixing, no setup. Designed for field inspection and spot checks across oil and gas, aerospace, and heavy industry where a wet bench is not available, it delivers the same particle specification and sensitivity as the bulk wet method powder.

Wet bench MPI produces reliable results in production environments, but it is not always practical on site. ZChek-FB is a pre-mixed oil-based fluorescent suspension in an aerosol – shake, spray onto the magnetised surface while the magnetising force is applied, then inspect under UV-A at 1000 µW/cm². It detects medium to fine surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities including inclusions, seams, shrink cracks, tears, laps, flakes, welding defects, grinding cracks, quenching cracks, and fatigue cracks, using the same particle specification as the bulk wet powder: 6-micron mean size, 1-16 micron range, and Ketos Ring sensitivity of 8-9.

Key features

  • Ready-to-use aerosol – no bath setup, mixing, or concentration monitoring required
  • Yellow-Green fluorescence, inspect under UV-A at 1000 µW/cm²
  • Detects medium to fine surface and slightly subsurface discontinuities
  • Matches bulk powder particle specification: 6-micron mean size, 1-16 micron range
  • Ketos Ring sensitivity: 8-9
  • High flash point, low odour, non-toxic – suitable for open inspection areas
  • 520 ml aerosol, 12 cans per carton
  • Shelf life: 3 years unopened

Typical applications

  • Field MPI on in-service plant and equipment
  • Weld inspection – detecting welding defects, cracks, and seams
  • Inspection of forgings and castings for shrink cracks, laps, flakes, and inclusions
  • Fatigue crack and grinding crack detection on machined and heat-treated components
  • Spot checks and audit inspections alongside a production wet bench
  • Low-volume inspection where wet bench setup is not warranted
  • Aerospace and aviation component maintenance and repair checks
