The Cygnus 1 Ex is a rugged, handheld ultrasonic thickness gauge designed specifically for hazardous environments. Certified for use in all explosive gas zones (0, 1, 2), coal mines, and combustible dust zones (21, 22), it enables safe, accurate wall thickness measurements without the need for hot work permits.

Ideal for use across oil and gas sites, chemical plants, fuel depots, refineries, pipelines, and even food and wood processing facilities, this intrinsically safe UTG offers unmatched versatility. It supports three measuring modes, including through-coating, and is compatible with a high-temperature probe for in-service asset monitoring.

Operators benefit from a user-friendly interface with live A-Scans and B-Scans, configurable manual mode, and a deep coat function to ignore thick surface coatings. Data can be quickly transferred via Bluetooth to CygLink software for streamlined reporting and analysis.
