Did You Know: The Mentor Visual IQ is compatible with bluetooth keyboards?
Did you know Mentor Visual iQ users have the ability to remotely control various functions using a simple wireless Bluetooth or USB wired keyboard?
There are various inspection workflows that could be more streamlined if the user did not have to stand with the MViQ handset to perform certain functions such as image capture or video recording.
One particular example is an aircraft engine inspection that requires the use of a motorized turning tool. Varying mounting positions of the turning tool on the engine in relation to the borescope port where the inspection takes place can result in the need for more than one technician to perform the inspection. One technician must operate the turning tool while a second technician uses the Mentor Visual iQ to visually inspect the engine.
Now one technician can operate the turning tool and capture images and video remotely using a keyboard. Essentially the only MViQ function that cannot be controlled wirelessly is probe articulation.
One recommended keyboard is the Logitech k810 (pictured). The equivalent keyboard operations are shown in the diagram below:
